Our 40th Anniversary

40th Logo Square

Our story began on June 18th, 1984, with the opening of our doors at Lutz Street in Moncton, originally conceived as a transition house, offering 8 beds to those in need. Since then, ARA has thrived, expanding to include four 24/7 locations, featuring our landmark Church street residence, the suburban charm of First Avenue, and a dedicated crisis intervention center. Our journey reached a pinnacle with the acquisition of our largest residence in Amirault, serving as both our administrative hub and our largest residence. Additionally, we proudly offer 20 independent housing units spread across Danois, Lutz, Lakewood, and Victoria, fostering a strong sense of belonging and community.

Over four decades, our team has grown significantly, with over 80 dedicated individuals tirelessly supporting our residents, complemented by the pivotal role of a dedicated community support coordinator. Together, we’ve achieved remarkable milestones, guiding numerous residents from transitional housing back into the community, positively transforming lives along the way.

As we commemorate our 40th anniversary, we reflect on the remarkable journey that has shaped us, characterized by growth, resilience, and an unwavering commitment to our mission. Here’s to the next chapter of empowerment and a brighter future for all. We invite you to share your personalized messages, videos, and photos on our 40th-year anniversary page. Thank you for being part of our narrative.
